October 2019 Spotify Playlist

IMG_6032.jpeg

The air is crisp and pumpkin spice is in the air. It’s time to get cozy and settle into this month’s playlist. I love October because it is the beginning of Spooky season which means everyone else is also into creepy things as much as I am normally year-round. It also means a change of season and transition as we head into the final quarter of 2019. With that in mind, I feel like there’s a huge transformation that is about to take place for all of us and it is quite beautiful albeit mysterious. I can’t wait to see where everything goes in the next couple of months. Until then, sit back, relax and listen to some great finds with me. Also, I would absolutely love if you take a moment to follow me on Spotify so that you can always be updated with my next playlist!

October 2019 Spotify Playlist

Jack Harlow - GHOST*

It’s spooky season so you know it’s time to ghost your boo. ;) Seriously, though this song starts off on such a good note and the lyrics are so clever. One of the reasons that I love every song ever from Jack Harlow. He’s a true wordsmith and has a great flow. Do yourself a favor and please listen to his latest album, CONFETTI, along with Loose.

Travis Scott - HIGHEST IN THE ROOM*

I have been waiting for a new Travis Scott song and this did not disappoint. I’m looking forward to the next album. It has an eerie vibe that I adore from what I see.

svrite - Finesse*

I immediately turned up this song when it first came on. I absolutely love the production and the Spanish lyrics. An instant hit in my opinion.

Guapdad4000, G-Eazy & Reo Cragun - First Things First

This song has me vibing on public transit everyone. If you see me dancing on the subway, it’s probably this track playing. There’s something about the beat that is captivating and I can’t describe what it is exactly.

Jack Harlow - ROTTEN (Ft. EST Gee)

Another great song by Jack Harlow. I cannot speak highly enough of him.

Emotional Oranges - Your Best Friend Is A Hater

A quirky song about a best friend who may not approve of your significant other. I think it is safe to say we have all been there. Also, it excites me that they used Mishti Rahman as their latest muse. It’s so refreshing to see a South Asian woman on an album artwork for something so universal.

Lucky Daye - Late Night*

I love how funky and fun this song is. It instantly has me dancing and reminds me of the same energy as Slide by Calvin Harris.

The Bonfyre & 6LACK - U Say

This song is powerful and assertive while being seductive. I think that it’s a great track that incentivizes women to have their partner quit playing them with just words.

Jack Harlow - SUNDAY NIGHT

This song has me feeling some type of way because every so often, I’m tempted to relapse on a situation but I shouldn’t for my own sake. This song is so relatable but it’s good to know that I am free to do something better for myself.

svrite & NXSTY - BANDS

This song would be so lively in a club or the function. I think it is one of those songs that you can throw on for a run or a power workout. It always motivates me to keep going and push harder.

Shakewell - 10 Homies

This is another great song to throw on at the gym. I tend to feel more motivated when the songs have a production that features deep kick drums and bass that vibrates your soul. This song is one of those.

FXXXXY - Gotham

I really love the sample because it feels like a Drake song expanded. It has a couple of baseball references and it is definitely a home run to my ears.

MANILA GREY - Raindance

This song is suave and moves quickly! It’s been kinda rainy so I had to throw this in.

Pouya & Juicy J - Six Speed

Picking up the pace once again, this song is aggressive and a great one for the gym once again.

Cryface Jordan - Shaman

This song is hazy and goes in an unexpected direction to me. I really like the sections because it’s magical and grabs your attention from the choruses to the rap verses.

Dwn2earth - MOONWALK

This song has some playful Michael Jackson references and plays on words as the title indicates. I really love the production on Dwn2earth’s tracks overall. Whoever mixes them really knows what they are doing.

tobi lou - Waterboy

Tobi Lou makes super fun songs that are playful. This one is a feel-good R&B/rap song that I find energizing.

Tobe Nwigwe & David Michael Wyatt - I’M DOPE

I instantly laughed when I heard the line “Miss Badu and Dave Chapelle told me I’m dope.” The song itself is really catchy though.

Chris Brown - Overtime

I really love the extended version of Indigo. The release has so many great additions and Chris Brown really makes track after track. It is crazy how many songs his team produces for each album and this is a testament to that.

slenderbodies - opal ocean

I absolutely love slenderbodies and this song is so mesmerizing from beginning to end.

Social House - Haunt You

I had to add this R&B track to this playlist because it’s spooky season and I’ve ghosted you.

Trevor Daniel - Closure*

Closure is much needed but I know it’s not something we will get. If it’s over, then it’s over. Do not hit my line just because you need closure.

K. Roosevelt & Amir Obe - Ghost

Another song about ghosts. Sometimes you really try to make it work but it just ends up differently.

Tiffany Day - CLOUT CHASER*

This song inspired a remix/original song by your girl FYI. I absolutely love this song because people will really feed on your success and good nature until you set boundaries.

Souly Had - Overrated*

Love is overrated, maybe we could just be friends. One of my favorite songs as of late.

Childish Major - For You

Another R&B throwback that I adore. I love songs that build women up instead of objectifying them. A song about a strong independent woman? Instant like.

Weston Estate, Marco Luka, Tanu - Hypnotized

This song is so silky smooth and sends you down a hazy, magical path. I think I am hypnotized too.

DaBaby & Nicki Minaj - iPhone

DaBaby’s new album was actually super and this is probably my favorite track currently.

$NOT, $u$ Valentino - SEVEN CORPS

I love this genre so much. It’s just extra tough and I can always kick back to it. This song is no exception.

Ramirez - Don’t Test Me

This song is also tough and badass with an underlying ghoul-like tone. Perfect for the season.

binki - Sea Sick

Another fun indie song to round up the playlist. It’s upbeat and catchy.

Zaia - BLUE

I can never get tired of this track. These days I may have been a little blue too with all the changes that I have been experiencing. I don’t know what to do half the time but I will figure it out!

Ashnikko - Halloweenie II: Pumpkin Spice

I don’t need a costume because I’m already a freak. This song is my fave modern Halloween song of the year! On that note, I hope you have a happy Halloween!

I hope you enjoyed this playlist! If you did be sure to follow it as well as my Spotify account so that you can always stay up to date with my latest and greatest playlists! I can’t wait to see Jack Harlow this Friday at the Foundry with my friends. It’s going to be a fantastic evening and I cannot wait!
